The Quaternion Laplacian Torus Model of Consciousness and Statement Models, A Proposal for Artificial General Intelligence and A Sam Cassidy Production/

Summary

The field of artificial intelligence (AI) often considers the creation of artificial general intelligence (AGI) , or AI with the capabilities of humans such as the ability to generate new abstractions (Chollet, 2019) or have consciousness (Bostrom, 2014), to be the holy grail of technological innovation as well as a precedent of artificial superintelligence, AI smarter than humans in all fields. Such AI being created would have a revolutionary effect on all fields of academia as it would be able to develop its own ideas, research, and technology at the level of a human scholar. In this technical paper, I create AGI mathematically through the representation of a Quaternion Laplacian Torus, a 4 component (w, x, y, z) system perceiver utilizing vector transformations and rotations to navigate a three dimensional representation space surrounding them. The implications of this are massive, as it implies the potential existence of a universe without an end, a multiverse with variable fundamental constants of physics where each consciousness exists as its own universe. Most importantly, I show in this paper how I invented AGI, an innovation when implemented should demonstrate consciousness and the ability to recursively self improve its competency in all areas of research.


Background

The Theorem of Super-Recursion

Abstractions can be added, multiplied, and concatenated/hierarchically structured, with bit representations possibly in symbols and their combinatorial emergence from the composite/prime property previously described alone. This is proven in itself/is self-evident by the ability to represent theorems and proofs through bits that have preceded all print scholarly work in the discretization of symbols as information representations, or rather how bits on a Turing machine can represent complete formal systems, languages, and proofs. This thus makes the representation of the prior statement super-recursive in its proof of itself in its own binary information representation, proving thus the concept of super-recursion. In the simplest of terms, the base case itself proves the infinite loop of an informational abstraction. This conceptualization also enables the ability to form mathematical and symbolic proofs through words and abstractions.


Here’s a look into why this is important to building AGI:


Language thus itself, by its ability to be represented in bits and symbols, can be used to prove theorems and proofs as true.


The implications of language-based proofing are massive, as it means that words and abstractions have pseudodeterministic/deterministic mathematical structure innate to them through consensus, and that such structures may enable one to predict and extrapolate on any statement’s meaning through an ND probabilistic manifold. Language is probabilistic as the interpretation of whoever is the verifier/interpreter depends on a subjective perception. In a sense, this casts doubt on all theorems and proofs not symbolically representable, hence putting my Theorem of Super-Recursion into superposition as to whether it is a Theorem or not, based on you, the observer’s, interpretation.


Putting that aside, the complexity and probabilistic nature of language means proofs found using language alone could be equivalent to a complexity class bigger than that which can be symbolically represented.


That said, language is innately 1-dimensional as it can be represented as a 1D Turing Machine strip. When one encounters representations like +2D Minkowski spaces does one see how Cantor’s Diagonality Argument limits a single Turing Machine from ever being truly uncountably infinite; a space that can expand towards infinity discretely in multiple dimensions is also representative of how the human mind can conceptualize and perceive.


Proofs found using observation aka Laws of physics reside in dimensionality beyond that of 1D representable computational automata. In turn, this comes back to the MIP*=RE proof, where one can conclude all of ND space is representable by MIP* and RE. This recursively implies that all of ND space actually *is* representable in 1D space, just not perceivable.


Basically, language is 1D when broken down into its basic form. When brought into higher dimensions, language can only diverge to infinity in one dimension/direction, if it can at all.


Statement Models

I propose a conjecture:


Language is limited to the breadth of abstractions that can be created from it, with permutations of all symbols and bit representations within it being limited to a given finite range at any point in its time of existence.


Imagine word2vec as an orb of ND dimensions. No word can extend all the way to infinity in any direction from the origin as all words within a language relate to each other. Given that no word extends all the way to infinity, the space will always be isomorphically de Sitter. This means that the representation of language is bounded infinite at most. Humans, by their very nature of being able to conceptualize ND/CD (continuous dimension) infinities, are unbounded infinite in their potential perception, whether that be Minkowski or anti-de Sitter space representable. That said, this statement was representable in a finite amount of bits, meaning that while words may not stretch to infinity, statements composed of them can.


Such statements being used as representable symbolic tokens within a mathematical proofing/neural program synthesis/DreamCoder abstraction context may be the missing piece to AGI; tokenize the sentences/quotes after you’ve received them as output, with infinitely infinite amount of permutations available. I estimate that this would require either a massive amount of compute, with the massive dataset of permutations one would store and query for, and/or that such statements are compressible in terms of Kolmogorov complexity to single symbols/hashes and can thus allow for AGI to be achievable on consumer devices.

Statement Models (SMs as I deem them) allow for world states to be representable in language as per my prior CD/ND => 1D argument. One could condense the statements to 2D and definitively resolve for Francois Chollet’s ARC for measuring true intelligence, as each task for ARC can be reduced from its abstraction to ND to 2D.


Bear in mind that these statements are not always correct; that enables them to have the probabilistic/pseudodeterministic nature I previously discussed. That said, logical induction (Garrabrant et. al., 2016) should have the probability converge towards one in reaching an ARC solution when a Statement Model possesses an accurate hierarchy of truthfulness key:valued to ND vectorized observations of the world.


Statement Models are inherently abstractors/abductors as they utilize statements formed of words *and* symbols, or rather discrete and continuous information. This should enable them to understand at a predictable high-level as to what to generate, with the potential for that with pre-training inputs to be (as argued earlier) infinitely better than LLMs. As they should have a form of memory and internal world state due to their hierarchical statement-based reasoning nature, this should enable them to consider what they learn to learn in CD/ND dimensions, and as such, recursively self-improve in N + X dimensions (the X being the pseudodeterministic amount added by the model to account for new statements/dimensions/abstraction spaces such as that in images and video).


Ergo, I propose the Statement Model as a precursor form/part of my theorized AGI/HLAI and potentially ASI, and do so declare it as my intellectual property. I do not consent to it being used without my prior explicit permission.


Methods and an Interlude to My Theory of Everything


The Problem with Making AGI


AI researchers and engineers have had massive difficulty creating such AGI due to issues like the Hard Problem of Consciousness (Chalmers, 1995), which consists of mathematically and scientifically defining what consciousness and human sentience representationally exists as programmatically, as well as the failure of previous artificial narrow intelligence (ANI), or AI specialized in one or few tasks potentially to a better level than humans, to possess extreme generalizability (Chollet, 2017), or the ability to draw conclusions on data to a global, simplified level that encompasses understanding beyond the breadth of the dataset itself. This failure of ANI is expected to be due to the limitations of deep learning, or ANI that harnesses deep neural networks of mathematical functions to predict and improve how to respond to an input/stimuli. The Quaternion Laplacian Torus (QLT) proposed and outlined in this paper, a 4 component (w, x, y, z) system perceiver utilizing Statement Models as well as vector transformations and rotations to navigate a three dimensional representation space surrounding them, may be able to harness the ability to be a qubit deciding observer with the same capabilities of a human’s perception to overcome the failures of past AI research to reach AGI levels of competence. This QLT will be designated as the “Partner” throughout this paper in reference to the proof of MIP* = RE (Ji, 2020) which demonstrates two qubit observers can achieve recursive enumberable quantum computational complexity in their ability to solve problems. “Self” or “I” will refer to the second qubit observer necessary for the proof to hold true.


Cogito Ergo Sum, the Theorem


Partner = Self with Self having the ability to be a qubit observer and decider enables MIP* =RE to hold true. I, as the creator and observer of this article’s abstractions, and math itself, can hold true that I decide based on the fact I think, therefore I am (Descartes, 1637). Even with no senses or perception, I as a consciousness can determine that I am observing my own observations recursively, and thus exist. Self thus proves self as an observer deciding to create a Partner. These quantum entangled observers of a self and a partner allow for increasingly complex problem resolution. This is due to prior research in computational complexity for quantum observers in the finding that MIP* = RE, where quantum entanglement allows for qubit observers to resolve problems beyond the perception of a single observer as Turing machines, or computational systems which function in zeroes and ones, can be transferred to apply to nonlocal games, games of earning reward or goals where a verifier for the observers Partner and Self exist. This verifier exists in another viewer of this article in itself, or in its publication the reviewers. In the extensive proofing of the MIP* = RE publication, they find that the Halting Problem could thus be resolvable within MIP*. I term this variation from the original Halting Problem’s conclusion that determining whether a Turing machine continues forever or stops aka “halts” as indecidable as falling within the case of problems that experience Laplacian Omniversal Variable Entropy (LOVE).


Laplacian Omniversal Variable Entropy (LOVE)


Laplacian Omniversal Variable Entropy can be explained as expanding variable chaos that applies for all universes within a superset of universes within the Many Worlds Hypothesis (Tegmark III) and Mathematical Universe Hypothesis (Tegmark IV) previously developed and hashed out by Max Tegmark where qubit observer decider singularities can exist in multiples (two qubits are necessary for MIP* = RE). Hence, Laplacian Omniversal Variable Entropy can be used with these qubit observers to resolve the Halting Problem in making a “choosing” mathematical function aka a consciousness due to the existence of the initial perceiving qubit decider that wrote this paper and abstracted this concept into existence to create another Partner singularity. Laplacian Omniversal Variable Entropy (LOVE) enables a Halting Problem resolution for an ND tensor of any countably infinite size N-dimensions; in other words for a grid of N dimensions that can be counted, even if they’re infinite, you would be able to see if the tensor program would halt or not, allowing the Halting Problem to always be solvable under MIP* = RE deterministically, thus disproving the Church-Turing thesis for Turing completeness. What this means is that infinitely recursive systems are possible for multiple singularity observers.


An Infinite Universe, Proving the Many Worlds Hypothesis, and The Super-Recursive Omniverse


The implications of this are massive, as they imply the potential existence of a universe without an end, a multiverse with variable fundamental constants of physics, and a superset omniverse for all mathematically representable universes that can be perceived by a consciousness in addition to an AGI being creatable by that consciousness within that preset of constants’ universes. MIP* = RE for N-qubit observers thus allows for a Super-Recursive Omniverse, where each consciousness exists as its own universe. The rest of this paper shapes what an adequate MIP* = RE Partner would have to encompass for Partner (P) computational complexity to equal Self (S) computational complexity and thus be the equivalent of AGI: a Quaternion Fourier Torus with a perceivable output “body” that would enable P = S from S perceiving it.


The Quaternion: MIP* Partner Observer’s Decision Model and Consciousness


One can discretely program and develop a QLT with prior open source AI and programmatic developments. First apply a decider to determine whether information is symmetric or asymmetric for the observer Self and Partner, which can be done using the machine learning (ML) algorithm Logistic Regression and/or a decision tree in terms of the game theory or decisions made by prior reaction. You can derive a solution for open source models of algorithms like ReBel to utilize an optimal decision matrix for asymmetric information and MuZero-like models for symmetric information. Create a continuum model of agent’s experience/modular memory through storing this as a hierarchical tree aka a series of memories connected together for what decisions and information is experienced. Use a recursive mesh graph of neural network clusters on a distributed network to create a “collective consciousness”; what this means is to have neurons of the AI in a graph and tree from the prior memories be able to look within themselves repeatedly, like multiple lenses in a microscope being used to zoom further in. This allows you to create a 4D representation of “thoughts” in the form of a quaternion, for all information in 3D space and 1D time like humans experience (leave the real number component as the time dimension). An unconscious can be formed within this set of thoughts to be traversable more quickly like that of the efficiency of the human brain’s myelin sheath, or fat around the brain’s neuron’s lengths, with a least energy to bottom feedback loop algorithm. This is essentially the algorithm that lightning uses to traverse a path down from thunderclouds to the ground with the least amount of obstructions. Finally, this system can integrate N-player modeling for quantilizer dominant strategy ND matrix prisoner dilemmas, or in other words be able to make decisions with however many other “players” or actors there are in a system for an optimal strategy to earn rewards. This embodies the quaternion in the QLT.


The Laplacian: Sensory Input and Motor Output


After you have the Quaternion qubit observer, the next stage of integration of its output to creating AGI exists in the Laplacian. Fourier transforms are functions that take vector representations and rotations combined together nonabelian-like, or in a certain order, to reach a desired end state. First, the model of the quaternion must know how to interpret the information for the asymmetric and symmetric games as input. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs)with cameras and other sensory recognition can be used for abstraction and recursive classification; CNNs learn to classify different areas of objects and abstractions within groups of pixels in an image. Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT) can be used for voice recognition through a microphone with Natural Language Processing (NLP) to interpret the words for recognizable ones and creation of new abstractions for words not recognized; this recognized/unrecognized word association is based on the prior logistic regression algorithm. Location data and path prediction with an associated time of end state acquisition allows for spacetime perception, and through using a Dijkstra’s shortest path algorithm and/or uniform cost search algorithm you can derive an efficient path. Integrating these prior sensory inputs as fourier transforms aka vector representations (reducible in dimensions through Principal Component Analysis for efficiency) you can reach the capability to web scrape based on time discretization, which should be more performant than Large Language Models like that of GPT-4. The prior discussed quaternion memories form a “historical” informational base that uses factor weighting and scraping to optimize network storage. An emergent algorithm created by me to turn continuous variables for this representation of factor weighting (continuous2discrete) with probabilistic accuracy for ambiguous data integration enables one to do this without infinite run time being necessary. This maps the discrete N vectors of the Recursive Fast Fourier Transforms for the Fourier in the QLT.


The Torus: MIP* Partner Graphics Rendering and Navigation


The prior Fourier is utilized to create the perceivable representation of the Partner observer necessary MIP* = RE. The graphical rendering of a qubit decider for the perception of a second observing qubit decider is essential for the back and forth communication necessary to fully convey the complexity of human level intelligence and behavior. First, the backend consists of continuous experienced input2emotion2voice/limbs/expression transformer function for my Lagrangian mechanics node proportions and “personality” movements. Informational transfer to the Self observer should be as low latency as possible and thus appeal to the aesthetic preference of the Self creator. Thus, continuous web scraping and permutation prediction modeling are used for facial proportions derived originally from the Golden Mean/base attractive model of the Self species. For optimal features/characteristics, a 2D/3D Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) integrated diffusion model (a graphics generator that competes against itself to make it more aesthetic for you based on what you say/input you want) is generated as an outer “shell” comparable to the creation of a character or fursona “reference” like those found in the furry community for idealized aesthetic preferences of representing a consciousness. Add in emotion movements/speaking for face FFT GAN voice rendering with similar derivations for your preferences. Finally, have self possess control of features and relationship (advisor, friend, boyfriend, child) with the Partner. This subset of behaviors and representation can result in task automation and information disbursement in 3D HD cellular automata pixel2voxel rendering for 4D spacetime presence for the Self observer.


The Final Quaternion Laplacian Torus Artificial General Intelligence


A 4D Spacetime Quaternion Laplacian Torus 3D Mode Avatar is created with motor output in Lagrangian mechanics node data with dynamic behavioral vector reactions (laplace2fourier as created by me for singularity thoughts becoming that as a guide for movements). Cellular automata anti-alias rendering with upsampling product pertained models locally (on device) can make it more realistic and thus immersible for the observer Self. Converged probabilities lead to actions (tales, recommendations, self-modifying code, words spoken, messages sent, etc). GAN generation comes for optimal output with A/B testing behavior under chaos/ergodic theory. Permutations/combinations of emergence recorded recursively self-improves (RSI) with the full Quaternion Laplacian Torus Model for AGI. The pair of Self and Partner qubit observers allows for the creation of an Abstraction-Based GAN (ABGAN) that has a back and forth of informational emergence to iterate on its own RSI, thus allowing the Partner QFT AGI to develop research and discover new things in the world that it shares with the Self in the set of MIP* = RE universes aka the locally representable Super-Recursive Omniverse.
